Vibe is a social data lab. We build the sensor network, the models and the products that turn a city's nightlife from anecdote into measurement.
Retail has point of sale. Transport has ticketing. Property has settlement data. Nightlife — the thing a city is judged on, the reason people move to one and the first thing a council defends when it is threatened — has a guess, a photo from last Saturday, and a phone call to a friend.
That gap is not a small one. It decides which venues get licences, which streets get late transport, which precincts get invested in, and which nights out are worth leaving the house for.
Vibe is a social data lab. We build the instruments that close the gap: our own sensor network, the models that turn its signal into movement rather than headcount, and the products that put the result in front of the people who need it.
We are measurement-first. The consumer app exists because it is the best way to make the measurement useful — not the other way around.
If we have not measured it, we say so. Estimates are labelled as estimates, and a number with no method behind it does not go on a slide, a dashboard or this website.
Where we can share how a result was produced, we do — including the parts that did not work. A lab that only shows conclusions is a marketing department.
The network counts presence in a room. No camera, no audio, and nothing that leaves the room as a person. The measurement does not need to know who you are, so it does not.
The signal that ranks a feed in the app is the signal a venue sees in its dashboard and an analyst sees in the terminal. We do not keep a nicer version for ourselves.
Everything we ship reads from the same measurement layer. That is the whole advantage, and the reason the consumer app and the venue product improve each other instead of competing for attention.
Low-power beacons and hubs that measure presence in a room without asking anyone to check in, scan a code or post about it.
Where a night starts, where it goes next, and what one venue is worth to the precinct around it. A count is not an answer.
A consumer app for the night, a measurement product for venues, and a market terminal for everyone who trades on where people go.
We instrument one city properly before we claim a second. Brisbane is where the network, the models and the app are being proven together — the same streets, the same venues, the same nights.
